Real Madrid will be facing Racing Santander on Sunday in an attempt to extend their brilliant winning streak since the international break.

Although it will seem like an easy game, it definitely won't be because of the quality that Racing Club have shown, as well as their unbeaten record at home, which extends to March, which is, quite frankly, insane.

There are some players who will come in for some of the starters at Real Madrid, and they will try their best to showcase the importance of playing for Real Madrid and try their best to use this chance to their full potential.

3 Real Madrid players with a point to prove against Racing Santander

Alvaro Carreras

Alvaro Carreras has played second fiddle to Marc Cucurella all season long, even though he has had a few games here and there. Generally speaking, Carreras has accepted that he is a second-choice left-back at Real Madrid. He might get a chance to play some crucial minutes against Racing Club, and if he does, he will have to take it with both hands.

There have been some good performances from the Spaniard, but also some average ones that have made Jose Mourinho prefer Cucurella over him. If he gets a chance to play against Racing Club, he will have to take it with both hands. He will have to showcase his best against the newly promoted side, especially after the brilliant performance that Cucurella showed against Barcelona just a week ago. Carreras will have the chance, but he will have to take it with both hands if he does start.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent Alexander-Arnold has rarely played for Real Madrid this season, and it is very difficult to understand why. Whenever he has been on the pitch, Trent has been net positive on both ends of the field. He hasn't been nearly as bad on defence as people think and presume, and he has been very good both in build-up and in the attacking phase of the pitch.

Despite that, for some reason, Mourinho prefers to have Fede Valverde and Denzel Dumfries over him, which does not make too much sense. Hopefully, this would be the game where the Englishman will get his chance to showcase his talent to Mourinho and prove that he is more than capable of being Real Madrid's starting right-back.

It will take a lot of hard work, and Valverde may not even be able to beat Valverde in this race, but he can at least become the second-choice fullback for Real Madrid with yet another good performance. That is not to say he will definitely become that after one game, but his chances will definitely increase if he gets a chance to show his brilliance.

Endrick

Endrick had a few brilliant minutes against Roma in the Champions League a few weeks ago, but the start he had right after that match was underwhelming, to say the least. If he is able to get the chance to show Mourinho that that one bad game against Sevilla was just a one-off, he will have to take that chance with both hands.

Endrick is in desperate need of minutes, and if he wants to have a career at Real Madrid, he needs to make every single second on the pitch count. If he gets a start against Racing Club, he would need to make sure he has a great performance, no matter which position he plays in.
