Trent Alexander-Arnold has given his verdict on Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior and his status in world football. The Brazilian winger has refound form just in time for the final stretch of the season.
There were concerns over Vinicius during Xabi Alonso's short-lived reign. He went 18 games without a goal and some Madridistas felt he was an issue in the Madrid team.
Form is temporary and class is permanent and that was the case for the 25-year-old. He's bounced back under Alvaro Arbeloa and reminded the footballing world just how talented he is.
Alexander-Arnold in awe of 'incredible' Vinicius
Many of the Bernabeu faithful have been saying for years that Vinicius is arguably the best winger in the world. He's delivered on the biggest stages including in Champions League finals.
Vinicius controversially missed out on the Ballon d'Or in 2024 and the club stood by him and decided not to attend the ceremony. Every season he has played a key role in the Madrid side and that's proving to be the case this campaign since the turn of the year.
Alexander-Arnold hailed the Brazilian after his stunning goal in a 1-0 win over Benfica. He said (via Madrid Xtra):
“Vini’s goal? Incredible, he’s an incredible player. He shows his quality every game."
Vinicius' goal took his tally for the season to 11 goals and as many assists in 35 games across competitions. This is despite enduring a tough period and probably the most difficult season since he arrived at the club.
Alexander-Arnold added:
"He’s world-class. One of the best, if not the best in his position for many years now.”

He's world class. One of the best, if not the best in his position for many years now.
We're very lucky to have him. Hala Madrid!” pic.twitter.com/Nrts4p1u1W
Vinicius' recent performances are proving decisive in Madrid's bid to win the La Liga title. He scored a brace from the penalty spot in a 4-1 win over Real Sociedad last weekend.
The Brazilian was subjected to alleged racism in his side's win against Benfica mid-week. He showed unbelievable resilience to play on despite the controversy that ensued at the Estadio da Luz.
Is Vinicius the best winger in the world?
When Vinicius is at his best it's hard to argue against him being the very best winger in world football. It's not just the statistics that back that up but his performances as he grabs games by the scruff of the neck.
The Selecao star lights up stadiums with his pace, silky skillset and clinical finishing abilities. It's hard to argue against him at least being in the top three best wide men on the planet.
