Another star is quietly pushing himself on the wrong side of Real Madrid's future plans

The drama around Real Madrid has become too much to bear at this point with nearly daily reports of locker room fights and childish drama about who hates who. It is almost as if Real Madrid have become a club of teenage girls, serial losers more obsessed with their hair and image. The men have gone, leaving Madridistas with petulant prebuscents in their wake, all the while Real Madrid continue to come up empty handed in the trophy cabinet while Barcelona and PSG rack up the accolades.

Real Madrid are a shell of themselves, and though the attention has been spent picking apart the superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham, Real's now unholy trinity has merely served as a shield for the even less useful and even more problematic members of the roster.

Take, for example, defenders Alvaro Carreras and Antonio Rudiger. These two overpaid players have been horrible in recent months, contributing keenly to the club's failures domestically and abroad. And yet, they are in the headlines for causing fights behind the scenes.

Antonio Rudiger is a problem, too

Carreras all but confirmed the veracity of the reports, but now ultra reliable COPE journalist Miguel Angel Diaz has revealed, via the Madrid Zone, that Real Madrid "star" center back Antonio Rudiger did indeed slap Carreras in the locker room not too long ago. The incident is said to have happened in February after a team dinner that was meant to unify the squad. Whoops.

There are always two sides to the story, but there is never any excuse for putting your hands on a teammate. Do anything else but that. Rudiger is supposed to be a veteran player, but as the world has seen time and time again, including last season when he threw a water bottle at a player on the pitch, the German international's boorish behavior is an utter disgrace. There is nothing resembling stability or leadership about Rudiger.

Alvaro Carreras himself is not some saintly figure either. He has been petulant, pouting instead of improving his play after Alvaro Arbeloa rightfully benched him, and he is part of a vastly underperforming contingent of Spanish players who are sewing seeds of dissent in the media instead of actually playing competent football.

But Carreras being a waste of money is one problem. Antonio Rudiger is another. Real Madrid are set to extend the contract of a player who has been very poor defensively, and the idea of him being important to the team is a myth. He does great against Erling Haaland, does nothing in all the other games, and gets rewarded for being a locker room hooligan. Rudiger may have seemed like he is in the future plans of Real Madrid, but this story should be enough to get Real to see reason and reconsider the status of a player who, quite frankly, isn't good enough for Los Blancos.
