Michael Olise has become THE topic around Real Madrid right now. He was always the main dream transfer target for president Florentino Perez ever since he watched Olise up close and personal at the Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich, tearing apart Alvaro Carreras and the sub standard Madrid defense with ease.

With Olise reportedly telling his French national teammates and others that he wants to move to Real Madrid, Perez has his opening to make a move, and there is real optimism that Olise can be the dream left footed right winger to fill out the best attacking trident in the world alongside Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe, shifting the European Clasico balance of power back from Bayern Munich to Madrid.

There are quite a few players on Real Madrid who would love to work with a crack like Olise, particularly his French national teammates Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni who have been pretty aggressively recruiting him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Arda Guler would be the RW otherwise

According to a report from Diario AS, via the Madrid Zone, if Real Madrid are not able to sign Michael Olise this summer, then the role of the starting left footed right winger would then go to young Turkish national team star Arda Guler.

While Guler would obviously love to be a starter for Real Madrid and has a great character willing to play anywhere to help the team, the right wing position is not his best fit. He is better than the alternatives Madrid currently have and then Real could use all of Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni in the middle of the park.

But Guler's best position is as a No. 10. He is a midfielder, a playmaker who thrives playing centrally, seeing the whole field, playing passes all across the pitch with the whole attack to aim at, and getting as many touches as possible especially in those short areas.

Signing Olise would enable Guler to play more minutes in the midfield than on the wings and be more of a central playmaker, and it would also give Guler another great forward to spray passes to in goal scoring positions.

Guler is someone who lives to assist others and be the one to make the pass to the goal. You can see him always looking to do that for Kylian Mbappe, in particular, so having a third guy who can get in there and score great goals like Olise would be a boon. And it would spare him isolated on the wings.
