Real Madrid are mired in so much controversy that it feels like nobody besides Florentino Perez's chosen ones are untouchable, though many Madridistas would beg to differ. There are a nauseating number of reports now emanating from the Valdebebas about players bickering with each other, openly disrespecting the manager, and now even getting into physical fights.

Antonio Rudiger slapping Alvaro Carreras in the locker room has now become an open secret, but a new low has just occurred at the Real Madrid training ground this week. According to a fresh report from Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Aurelien Tchouameni and Fede Valverde were the latest players to get into it, as they apparently got into an ugly fight on the grounds that then carried into the locker room. MARCA also reported that teammates had to get involved to stop it from getting any worse.

Valverde is a captain at Real Madrid and one of the teams biggest stars, and though he was causing a lot of problems early in the season when Xabi Alonso forced him to play at right back, the beloved Uruguayan turned things around other Alvaro Arbeloa to such an extent, including a winning hat trick against Rivals Manchester City in the Champions League, that all was forgiven.

Aurelien Tchouameni may be expendable

Now, Valverde is back in the negative spotlight in the Spanish capital. He will survive this because of what he has done for the club and his quality, but Tchouameni may be in a more difficult predicamenet that puts him closer to the bracket of teammates Antonio Rudiger and Eduardo Camavinga.

Other clubs around Europe have been circling for Aurelien Tchouameni, and though he is a true No. 6 who has shown a higher level than the uneven Camavinga, he, too, hasn't quite blossomed into the consistent world-class player that Real Madrid expected when they spent big to sign him in 2022 as Casemiro's defensive midfield replacement.

Tchouameni takes steps forwards and back, and with Real Madrid already interested in a new 6 to pair with Tchou, such as Premier League stars Enzo Fernandez and Rodri, an incident like this can quickly put him on Florentino Perez's naughty list. Perez will sell players he is done with at the drop of the hat, and Tchou does not have that same star power or cachet of a Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, or Jude Bellingham. So getting into a big scrap like this just might quietly put him on the list of expendables.
