Real Madrid lost the game and the title to Barcelona in a 4-3 loss at Montjuic on Sunday afternoon despite a brilliant Kylian Mbappe hat-trick.
Real Madrid went 2-0 up to start the game, after Mbappe scored a penalty, followed by a cold finish to give Los Blancos a lot of confidence.
The away side then had a meltdown when they conceded four goals in just 26 minutes, through some really bad individual and collective errors. Real Madrid did get one back, though, after Mbappe completed his hat-trick.
Real Madrid player ratings from LaLiga decider vs Barcelona
GK Thibaut Courtois
Some really good saves undone by his defense. Can't blame him for any of the goals, but he is the reason Real Madrid were not down by more. Rating: 7
RB Lucas Vazquez
With all due respect, Vazquez should never start for Real Madrid again. He will, but he should not. Rating: 2
CB Raul Asencio
Decent performance, was Real Madrid's best defender. Got a rash yellow card. Was let down by the players around him. Rating: 6.5
CB Aurelien Tchouameni
Struggled in defense. He is not a defender and he never will be. He is a stopgap, not a solution. Real Madrid still need a central defender no matter what happens. Some good moves, such as playing Raphinha off before Barcelona scored their cancelled fifth. Rating: 5
LB Fran Garcia
Actually was OK against Lamine Yamal for as long as he possibly could've. Obviously made mistakes, but played better than expected. Not great, though. Rating: 5.5
CM Fede Valverde
Went down with an injury scare and did not look the same after that. Before, though, was absolutely brilliant defensively, putting out all fires. Rating: 6.5
CM Dani Ceballos
Horrific half from Ceballos. Had a collision with Mbappe that gave Barcelona the lead, and it was just an awful game from him. Has not looked good since his return. Rating: 4
AM Jude Bellingham
Not a great performance from Bellingham. Lost a few duels to Pedri, and although had a few really smart runs into the box, it was not his best Clasico performance of the season. Rating: 5
RW Arda Guler
Had a few good ideas and passes but was not involved in the play that much. It was expected that Ancelotti would deem Guler to be the problem and take him off, which he did. Guler should've been the x-factor, but he was not given enough time. Rating: 5
CF Kylian Mbappe
Easily Real Madrid's best player. Scored four goals, one of which was off. Won the penalty and scored it, too. Was their most dangerous player, must have felt let down by his teammates, and rightfully so. Rating: 9
LW Vinicius Jr
A bad performance from Vinicius Jr. Good assist to Real Madrid's second and third goals, but apart from that, he almost got it all wrong. Bad passes, bad first touches to kill them momentum and the attack. Real Madrid will need more from him next season. Rating: 5
Substitutions
AM Brahim
Played OK. Held onto the ball for too long sometimes. Improved as the game went on. Rating: 6.5
CM Luka Modric
Good performance off the bench. Played a beautiful pass to Vinicius Jr for Real Madrid's third. Rating: 7
RW Endrick
Came on late. Rating: 6
LW Victor Munoz
Castilla forward came on for Vinicius Jr in the hopes of getting on the scoresheet, and almost did when he was played through on goal in his first touch. Missed waywardly. Rating: 6
