Real Madrid president Florentino Perez boldly told the world that he is going to bid 150 million euros on a Galactico, and while he denied specifically that the player would be Ballon d'Or candidate Michael Olise from European Clasico rivals Bayern Munich, various transfer insiders have confirmed that Perez is going after the Frenchman and was coy only in the interest of not ticking off the Bavarians.

Uli Hoeness and just about everyone else at Bayern have made it clear that Olise is not for sale - not even at an exorbitant price. However, transfer insiders like Fabrizio Romano have cautioned that it remains to be seen how Bayern will actually react if given the opportunity to sell Olise for an insane price like, say, 200 million euros to approach PSG's record breaking acquistion of Neymar from Barcelona.

It does not look like Real Madrid are going to get that lucky. Olise does not seem against a transfer, but he is also not clamoring for a Santiago Bernabeu arrival either. And Bayern Munich are still playing hard to get themselves.

Real Madrid will not lie down quietly

In a statement to German paper BILD, via the Madrid Zone, Bayern Munich Chairman Herbert Hainer stated that Michael Olise is not for sale at any price and that Real Madrid have no chance at bringing in the right winger. He firmly stated that Bayern are not a selling club.

Hainer said, "We are not a selling club. Michael Olise is a Bayern player, and he's under a long-term contract. If Florentino Pérez wants to send a bid, which hasn't happened so far, he can save himself the trouble."

That is a very strong statement from Bayern Munich, and it is almost a dare to Real Madrid to even make the bid. But maybe that will make Florentino Perez that much more motivated to make a move, just to call Bayern's bluff. Because somewhere, deep down, Real Madrid may wonder if Bayern coming off that strong is them overcompensating their actual worries.

Real Madrid have to face the reality that Olise is just as untouchable as Joao Neves and Vitinha are at PSG, but they also will look at what Bayern are saying as a challenge to submit crazy bids and see if Bayern are even crazier to sell the world's second best left footed right winger after Lamine Yamal. Perez has already won the election and only promised a bid, not a signing, but after Enrique Riquelme pushed him into a corner, Papa Perez has more motivation to make a big move.
