Rumors first spread of Florentino Perez being obsessed with Bayern Munich right winger Michael Olise after the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals between Real Madrid and their long time German rivals in Europe, as Olise cooked Alvaro Carreras and the suspect Merengue defense all night long.

Well, months later, it looks like the rumors may be true. The Real Madrid president, after hearing his election rival Enrique Riquelme guarantee an Erling Haaland signing, told supporters publicly that he will be making a 150 million euro transfer bid in a serious pursuit for a new Galactico on the level of legends as big as Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Although he denied it would be Olise and initial reports indicated a move for PSG midifelders Vitinha or Joao Neves, now, it appears he was talking about Olise. And subtly, Bayern Munich are showing that they are worried about an approach for the former Crystal Palace man.

Bayern Munich go for Liverpool gem

According to reporting from David Ornstein and BBC Sport's Sami Mokbel, Bayern Munich have recently expressed an interest in top Liverpool prospect Rio Ngumoha, a 17 year old sensation on the wings who was already starting games for the Reds last season - and even over Mohamed Salah. Ngumoha is, per reports from others like Fabrizio Romano, untouchable from a Liverpool perspective, but it does not change the fact that Bayern are making real enquiries for the Reds biggest gem.

From a Real Madrid perspective, whether or not Bayern Munich actually end up with Rio is immaterial. The fact of the matter is that they are looking, and while Rio is more of a left winger than a right winger and thus more of a replacement or backup for Luis Diaz, a former Liverpool star himself, the club are not really in a position where they would need to replace the Colombian international.

So Bayern's sudden interest in Rio without warning other than the Michael Olise rumors gives validity to two things. Firstly, that Bayern Munich are worried about losing Olise. And secondly, that Bayern are willing to sell Olise for a high price, even though Uli Hoeness and others had said he would be off limits, even for 200 million euros. Everyone has a price, and if Bayern feel that Olise is willing to walk away to join Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, then maybe that is why they are throwing their hats into the ring for other wingers who will cost a lot and expect to play early.
