Florentino Perez remains obsessed with signing Michael Olise from Bayern Munich, and the Real Madrid president does not easily give up his dream targets. Even though he listened to Jose Mourinho's very wise decision to go after Yan Diomande at all reasonable costs and will likely soon officially seal the deal for the Ivorian winger from the Bundesliga after a campaign nearly as impressive as the Frenchman's, Real have not given up their long term dreams of Olise.
There are rumblings even that if Olise were to become available this summer transfer window, Perez would spring into action after Real raked in a record breaking 1.3 billion euros in total revenue this past season despite not winning a single trophy.
However, Real Madrid are not really optimistic that will happen, given they decided to sign Diomande and have not pushed any harder for Olise out of respect for Bayern, even though every major media outlet in Europe is reporting that Olise wants to leave for Madrid.
Bayern are not budging on Olise
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen gave his latest statement on Michael Olise, via Fabrizio Romano, emphatically sending a message to Real Madrid and the media that the French right winger is not leaving, "Michael Olise will stay, of course. New contract? He still has three years left on his contract. That’s a question for our management”.
The remarks on the new contract are in relations to reliable reports from the German media that Bayern Munich would like to try and extend Olise's contract with an additional raise in wages in order to get a firm commitment from the 24 year old Ballon d'Or candidate that he is not going to go anywhere this summer transfer window - or even in the future.
Bayern view Olise just as highly as Real and want to build around him for the next five to seven years as one of the world's biggest cracks in the attack. But so far, Bayern have not made any official approaches, and despite making it clear they are keeping Olise, Dreesen is a little more mum on the new contract or on keeping him for longer.
Real Madrid will have an opening to sign Olise next year, it seems, and maybe then Olise will push harder to go. Last season, Bayern were better than Real, but they were very close in the Champions League, with Olise being the main difference. So knowing how Real could be better if Olise were to flip after their already excellent summer transfer window, Bayern are not in the clear long term despite their obvious 2026 stance - and advantage.
