Brazil is just now learning what Real Madrid fans already knew about Carlo Ancelotti

Don Carlo is still that guy.

When Brazil hired Carlo Ancelotti to be their head coach for the World Cup, there was never any doubt. Nobody can safely predict who will win the entire competition, but Real Madrid fans know that there is no better head coach for a knockout competition than Don Carlo.

After Gabriel Martinelli scored a last-ditch winner to send Brazil into the Round of 16, the whole stadium erupted. Well, the whole stadium except from one guy.

Carlo Ancelotti did not celebrate. It was too early to celebrate, and there was still work to be done. Besides, it was all part of his master plan. A plan that he always seems to have.

Real Madrid fans know Carlo Ancelotti never really celebrates goals

Ancelotti refusing to overcelebrate is nothing new. You won't see any emotion out of him, even in the most intense moments. The most you would get is a raised eyebrow, and that's when you know it's serious.

To Ancelotti, winning isn't an achievement. Losing or drawing is an underachievement, sure, but winning is not an achievement. Calling a win an achievement would be akin to calling water dry. Wait, is water wet? I am vastly underqualified for this conversation, so let's move on.

Real Madrid fans know better than to judge Carlo Ancelotti before all is said and done. Judging Ancelotti for his work way too early is a job for, well, Florentino Perez.

Carlo Ancelotti is the second-half master

Ancelotti is perhaps the best manager in the world when it comes to the second half. Heck, he must be considered in the all-time limbs conversation alongside Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, it is not a stroke of luck. Luck very rarely exists in football, despite what emotions may tell you.

The hard work for Brazil happens behind the scenes. And no, it's just intense training drills. These players get enough of them with their clubs.

The real hard work from Carlo Ancelotti was uniting this Brazil team, and giving each individual player a reason to believe. The reason was out there in the stands.

Fans had to deal with the complication of travelling, and paying above the odds to attend the game, but Brazil fans did it because in Brazil, football is not just part of the culture, it is the culture.

This is why Ancelotti and Brazil get on like a house on fire, and it's why they absolutely have to be considered among the favourites to win the entire competition. When you combine a never-say-never head coach with players who live and breathe the sport, you get some pretty great things.

Real Madrid fans know that, and it's why most are happy to see Ancelotti in his new home.
