Endrick has had a rough time in recent months, as he struggled to get any minutes and was the most mistreated star of the several Xabi Alonso discarded at Real Madrid. But with his loan to Lyon in the back half of the 2025/26 campaign, the Brazilian phenom showed that he is indeed phenomenal, arguably outplaying everyone else in Ligue 1 during that stretch with goals, take ons, and beautiful chances created as the clear star of his team.
There seemed to be a guaranteed path to the first team at Real Madrid, and Jose Mourinho was sending signals to the Spanish media and even the international one, with Fabrizio Romano and others reporting of an important role for Endrick in the 2026/27 campaign under Mou, with minutes possible both on the right wing and at striker.
But as Florentino Perez pushes for Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise and as Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe begins to successfully recruit him, the pipe dream of the French right winger arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer is starting to become a real possibility for the Royal White quarter.
Endrick is in a sticky situation again
As such, in his own country, the media are starting to spin a more troubling story. In light of the interest in Olise, ESPN Brasil are reporting, via Liberta Depre, that Real Madrid are, yet again, not ruling out another loan deal for Endrick.
The thinking is that if Real Madrid sign Michael Olise this summer transfer window to start on the right wing with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, they may need to open up space with a sale. Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono seem to be the two main names to exit Madrid this summer on loans, with many clubs interested in them, including Alvaro Arbeloa's Fulham in Garcia at striker.
But ESPN Brasil say that Jose Mourinho is considering loaning Endrick and not just Garcia. He will have the two of them compete in the preseason and choose one of them to keep in the first team and the other to loan. While Mou and Madrid value Endrick, they cannot guarantee Endrick minutes, let alone a starting spot, especially if Olise arrives. So contrary to what has been said before, another loan is in play for Endrick.
There is another thing to note, too. The best player between Garcia and Endrick may not be the one who stays, because Real Madrid could choose to keep Garcia due to his profile as a true No. 9 and loan Endrick because he would stand to lose the most from not playing every week.
