Carlo Ancelotti's Endrick non-update means Real Madrid fans should keep watching paint dry

Real Madrid fans are no strangers to watching Endrick getting snubbed, and so it felt amazing to see him blossom into a star in just a few months as a starter for Ligue 1's Lyon, finally getting the opportunity to showcase his sheer quality in more phases of the game than just scoring goals.

Endrick was the best dribbler, creator, and, yes, scorer from the moment he stepped foot at Lyon, and he was arguably the best player in the entire league during that loan stretch. Now, he will come back to Real Madrid, and Jose Mourinho seems prepared to give the Brazilian international significant minutes.

Unfortunately, though, Endrick has not been able to get the same opportunities with the national team at the World Cup. Despite outshining his teammates in the friendlies and clearly having the support of the fan base as a far superior Brazilian starting striker to Brentford's latest manufactured star Igor Thiago, the young man still cannot get into the XI.

Don Carlo continues to snub Endrick

Carlo Ancelotti, just as Xabi Alonso after him, would not give Endrick minutes for Real Madrid, and he is doing the same with Brazil. Fans and reporters keep asking Don Carlo over and over again why he does not play the phenom, and the manager keeps giving the same response.

Ancelotti said, via Fabrizio Romano, “We need to be patient with Endrick. He’s a great player, Brazil will enjoy his skills for long time. We must be patient and use him at the right time. He’s gonna be important”.

That sentiment about being patient and future importance is great and all, but Endrick is already better than some of the players who are starting for Brazil right now, specifically the striker ahead of him, Igor Thiago. Nobody thinks Thiago is better than Endrick, and he has been horrendous in the last few games for Brazil, including friendlies.

Brazil fans and Real Madrid supporters are dying to see Endrick out there, and even neutrals are confused about this. In their history, Brazil had plenty of players who were dominant at World Cups as teenagers, so the whole age thing does not make any sense. If Endrick is ready, then play the man. If he is the best option, then play him, because you need to win: goodness knows how sick and tired the Brazil fans are of him not playing.

But for Real Madrid supporters, the best thing to do now is give it a rest. Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he is not playing Endrick, and there is no sense in watching paint dry and waiting for something to happen that won't happen any time soon.
