Real Madrid fans are eagerly anticipating the 2026 World Cup for a number of reasons. Cristiano Ronaldo has a real shot at finally hoisting the big trophy for Portugal with a loaded midfield behind him, Kylian Mbappe and France are always among the favorites, Spain are still a rooting interest for many Madridistas despite continually snubbing players from their club, and so many Real Madrid players in general are key to their country's hopes at the World Cup.

But the country Madridistas are watching the closest isn't Spain or even France. It is Brazil. Fan favorites Casemiro, Vinicius Junior, and Endrick are crucial players for the Selecao, and though the hopes of Brazil now rest mostly on the shoulders of Madrid's left winger Vinicius, the backup striker Endrick is the real X-Factor in the squad.

Endrick is stuck behind Brentford striker Igor Thiago, but that may not be the case for long. Because it was Endrick who netted the winner in the friendly against Egypt, showing elite finishing chops and positioning. And he was great besides the goal, constantly getting into dangerous areas while creating chances, showing exactly the quality he displayed at Lyon in six exceptional months.

Endrick is going to be important in the World Cup

It seems like former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, who presents yet another reason for Royal White fans to root for the men in Canarie Yellow, has seen the light on Endrick. He was filled with effusive praise for the teenager after his goal and grand second half performance against Egypt.

Ancelotti said of the former Palmeiras phenom, via Madrid Xtra, “Endrick? He he is very powerful, he is well positioned in the area, he had a chance and, he scored. He is important.”

There are rumblings from Fabrizio Romano and the Spanish press core that incoming Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho thinks Endrick is important to his squad in the 2025/26 season, and now Don Carlo Ancelotti is publicly backing the young man with statements that "Sir Bobby" is important to him at Brazil, too.

Endrick is such a smart player positionally beyond his years, and Ancelotti pointed that out with this brief bit of praise, too. There is no reason for him or Jose Mourinho to hold the kid back. Endrick is clearly ready for the big time at the World Cup, and he should be in the spotlight as a possible breakout player. Real Madrid fans have been begging for one of his coaches to believe in him, and maybe, just maybe, Carlo will be the first after coaching him in his very beginnings in Spain.
