Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will be leaving the club at the end of the season, with a move to Brazil looming ever so closely.

However, he has just given Real Madrid fans a brilliant parting gift before his team lines up to face Barcelona on Sunday.

In the final Clasico press conference that took place on Saturday, Ancelotti was asked about this match being the last time the two colossal sides clash this season.

Ancelotti, being the nice guy he is, had a very subtle but hilarious reply to the question.

He said: “This is the last El Clasico of the season because Barcelona will not be at the Club World Cup."

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti simply couldn't help himself from taking a light jab at Barcelona

It is funny. After the atrocious season that Real Madrid have had - and quite the opposite that Barcelona have had - it is just a funny little jab that makes the situation a bit less worrying than it is.

The Real Madrid manager not only talked about the fact that Barcelona are not in the Club World Cup, but he also might have alluded to the fact that they lost to Inter, so they are not directly guaranteed a place in the next one either by winning it.

They can obviously still make it, but Ancelotti might be rubbing salt on their wounds. Obviously, this is just my opinion - he might be talking about this year's competition only, but it is fun to speculate on things like this!

This is also one thing I would definitely miss about Ancelotti once he leaves. No matter how he is as a coach currently, he always backs Real Madrid, even if there is a need to take slight, unharmful shots at the rival teams.

He has done that before, and this might be the last time he does it, which is why it is nice to see.
