In recent years Real Madrid have found an unlikely destination to loan out their youngsters to develop, Como. Manager Cesc Fabregas has shown his prowess at developing young players into players that have all the potential in the world at their feet. We've seen it in recent years with players like Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramon, and Fabregas' side reportedly have their eyes set on another one of Real Madrid's best Castilla products.
As being reported by theMadridZone on X, Como are showing a strong interest in signing Gonzalo Garcia this summer, with the prospect of a move away from the Bernabeu becoming more and more likely. Cesc Fabregas has been building an impressive team around Castilla products with Gonzalo the latest to catch the eye of the Spanish manager.
Gonzalo to be the latest Castilla product to join Como?
Gonzalo Garcia burst onto the scene with Real Madrid during last summer's FIFA Club World Cup, filling in for Kylian Mbappe and managed to grab four goals and one assist in five matches taking home the tournament gold boot and showed that at just 22-years-old he has all the potential in the world to be a top talent for Los Blancos.
The Spaniard was a regular substitue under Xabi Alonso but somewhat lost his place once Alonso was sacked and Alvaro Arbeloa came in. Gonzalo still managed to grab eight goals and three assists in 39 appearances in all competitions this season, including a stunning hat-trick against Real Betis but his drop in minutes towards the end of the season somewhat stunted his growth and as a result the topic of him departing the club in the summer has come up many times in recent months.
Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have been two club linked with ther striker but now Como have come into the conversation, and that may be the perfect place for Gonzalo to go. We've seen the success that Castilla products Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramon had this season, with Paz taking home Serie A midfielder of the season and was the center piece for Como qualifying for the Champions League for the fist time in the clubs history.
Como's current striker is Alvaro Morata, another former Real Madrid player, and with him towards the end of his career, Gonzalo could easily come in and be a regular starter for the Serie A side which would allow him to take his game to a whole different level. Whether Gonzalo would be sent out on loan or sold on a permanent remains unknown but for a player at his age and with his talent, sitting on the bench at Real Madrid isn't doing much to help further his career.
