Gonzalo Garcia has lit up the Club World Cup, showing that he has a Real Madrid future. So, it's hard to explain why Chelsea thinks they can land him (they can't).

The FIFA Club World Cup is in full swing, and it's been great to watch Real Madrid steal the show. While their performances haven't been as rampant as other fans would expect, Real Madrid fans can see the discipline changes instilled by new manager Xabi Alonso.

Even just watching Xabi Alonso on the touchline has been a breath of fresh air for Madridistas. It was high time he made his long-awaited Real Madrid comeback.

Xabi Alonso has already improved the output of a handful of players, but none more so than Gonzalo Garcia.

Chelsea eye Gonzalo Garcia transfer

Under Xabi Alonso, Gonzalo Garcia is turning into a star. He's been one of the breakthrough players at the competition, scoring three goals and providing one assist in his four CWC matches.

This probably explains why Chelsea wants to sign Garcia, and could even launch their own €40m bid. On the other hand, it also explains why Xabi Alonso wants to keep Garcia, according to ESPN sources.

And it's that second part which rings the loudest to Real Madrid fans. It says a lot about Garcia's immediate impact that he's probably more untouchable than Rodrygo at this stage.

So, what are Chelsea thinking?

Real Madrid fans can laugh at this bogus chase

In truth, Chelsea isn't the type to think about logistics before they sign players. This isn't a bitter fan reaction, it's a general observation which is clear as day. Time and time again, they've thrown a wad of cash at players without even thinking about the other club, only their own selfish needs.

So, Chelsea has heard "no, get lost" many times, but not enough to fix up their transfer strategy. They still continue to go after untouchable players, as they haven't been seriously humbled enough yet.

We hope that Real Madrid seriously humble Chelsea if they continue to push for Garcia. At this stage, fans aren't concerned, they don't see any reality that Garcia leaves given the form he's in, but it'll be funny to watch Chelsea try at least.

Real Madrid has no reason to sell Gonzalo Garcia. They are the richest club in the world, with one of the best squads in the world. They don't need a quick cash grab, especially when Garcia is loving life at Real.
