Real Madrid and Como have been in talks regarding the future of Nico Paz, as the Merengues are expected to buy the star midfielder back from the Serie A upstarts on his nine million euro buy back clause despite Jose Mourinho apparently not seeing a spot in the midfield rotation for the Argentinian international.

But Real Madrid are not ostensibly buying Paz back to actually play him. Their plan appears to be to sell him for 60 million euros. And though Paz's preference is to play for Cesc Fabregas in Como after making it to the Champions League and pulling them up to that historic achievement as Serie A's best player, it looks like Como do not value Paz as much as we all thought they would.

In an interesting twist, Sky Sports report, via the Madrid Zone, that Como do not want to pay to sign Nico Paz permanently. Real Madrid are asking for 60 million euros in order to sign Paz, and Como simply do not want to meet that asking price despite Paz being their best player, the focal point of the team, and the top performing player in Serie A last season.

Como don't want to pay for Nico Paz

That decision by Como to not pay 60 million euros would then open the floor for Paz to be sold somewhere else, with Inter Milan highly interested as champions of Italy - and Real Madrid are also prepared to sell the youngster to the Premier League.

But Real Madrid fans have to take a serious pause when it comes to how they think about Paz. If Como saw Paz up close and personal and watched him break out into one of Europe's best midfield players, then why are they not willing to pay 60 million euros?

Madridistas have to wonder if Como know something that the rest of the world doesn't about Paz. Do they know something about his recent injuries that would make him too much of a risk for 60 million euros? Do they feel like Cesc Fabregas and the system were more responsible for his performances than his actual quality and that he is overrated? Do they feel like he just isn't a 60 million euro player? Or is their ownership just too cheap?

You would think that 60 million euros for one of the best young midfielders in the world and your leauge's best player would be worth it, but maybe Como don't think Paz will become an 80 million euro player or someone they can sell at a profit in the future; perhaps they, and Mourinho, know that Paz isn't a superstar. Or maybe, like so many others, they are just plain wrong.
