Most Real Madrid players who come through the academy are either fans of the club or long-time followers.
Frankly, in this day and age, there is a very likely chance that the player grew up watching highlights of Cristiano Ronaldo in his bedroom.
Ronaldo has had such a huge impact on this generation of players, that I would not be surprised if every single attacker in Real Madrid Castilla cited Ronaldo as their inspiration to become a professional football player.
There is yet another Real Madrid player who has now called Ronaldo his inspiration as a football player, and it is the same player you have been hearing about since the start of the Club World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid legacy is inspiring a new star
Gonzalo Garcia, Real Madrid's top scorer in the Club World Cup, was asked about his biggest inspiration when he was young, and he simply said, "Cristiano Ronaldo".
It makes more sense for Garcia than anyone else in Castilla right now.
Garcia started off as a left-winger and he was fairly good at what he did. Then, a lack of a proper goalscoring striker forced Raul to move him permanently to a striker position earlier this season, and he ended up scoring 25 goals.
Garcia is freakishly good at all the striker stuff despite not starting off as one, and that is a testament to his work ethic and his ability and openness to learn.
Real Madrid have found an absolute gem in Garcia, and it is very likely that he will now be part of the first team starting from next season.
He would not be a starter, but Garcia is an excellent option to have off the bench, and it would be brilliant to see him play more and more minutes for the first team. He has shown that he deserves it, and I guess some credit would go to Ronaldo.
