Former Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal is the dream target for Leganes this summer, reports Madridista Hoy.
Carvajal has been without a club since fulfilling his Real Madrid contract earlier in the summer and getting the send-off a player like him deserved.
Since then, he has been training with former teammate Joselu, and has been looking for a club to join for the ongoing season. Nothing has happened so far, even though there were reports of him having interest from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
A move still has not materialised, but this Leganes option, if economically viable, would be a brilliant one for Carvajal for a number of different reasons.

Obviously, Carvajal has lived in Madrid and Spain all his life. He has not moved anywhere else, apart from a brief stint at Bayer Leverkusen, and that indicates how settled he is in terms of life in the city.
He has his entire family in Madrid, and obviously, if he has to leave, his family would have to change their entire lifestyle too, which is difficult for anyone.
If a move to Leganes does end up materialising, though, it will be brilliant news not just for him, but for his family as well.
Leganes is a club based in Madrid, which is also where Carvajal is originally from, meaning he would not have to look for a different house, different supermarkets in a different city. He would be able to continue living his life in the city he has known all his life.
Of course, it is easier said than done. Leganes are only considering him a dream target. There is no mention of direct communication between the two parties, so it remains to be seen what actually happens, but it will be great for Carvajal to find a club within his home city.
Carvajal has also said in the past that he would not want to play against Real Madrid – although he did backtrack on that a few weeks later – and Leganes being in the Segunda Division would mean the chances of that happening are few.
Carvajal’s level is still pretty high, which is why it is surprising to see no interest for the veteran full-back, but a move to Leganes, if it ever happens, would be brilliant for his personal life.
His goals in a sporting sense, that would be a different topic, and obviously, the financial side of things would need a lot of ironing out, too, but in theory, this feels like a good move for Carvajal and his family.
