Real Madrid are in hot pursuit of Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise, and although Bayern are basically blocking any shot of a deal and even execs at the Merengue club are telling Florentino Perez behind the scenes that it is impossible to sign him this summer, everyone knows Florentino will not pause until he gets his man.
Currently, Real Madrid are planting the seeds for an Olise deal, but whether they are willing to spend above the record 222 million euros PSG spent on Barcelona's Neymar in 2017 remains to be seen, especially since, as great as Olise is, he is clearly no Ney.
In the meantime, Kylian Mbappe is doing his best to recruit Olise over to Real Madrid while they work together on the French national team to win the World Cup. And captain Mbappe is doing an excellent job of it, with the two constantly hooking up for goals and assists in the group stages before looking like a stalwart unit in the face of the antics of the Paraguayans, vocally standing up for each other.
Real Madrid still dream of Michael Olise
But Mbappe is not the only recruiter on France, though. Olise's current teammate Dayot Upamecano, who is the best center back in world football today, is busy trying to push the Ballon d'Or candidate into staying at Bayern Munich.
Talking to reporters after the game, via Kerry Hau of Sky Sports Germany, the star defender said that "He's staying," in reference to Michael Olise and the Real Madrid transfer rumors, sounding very confident in his statement.
The last thing Real Madrid fans want to hear is that Olise is not coming to them, because even though they are prepared for that outcome with how unlikely it is to make the move this summer transfer window, they would rather have the fight at least go down to the wire to deadline day.
Just like their president Florentino Perez, Real Madrid fans are obsessed with being the biggest club in the world, and that means bringing in the best players. Real Madrid have not had a truly elite and full front three since Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema were all in their primes together. They have Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe, but there is a clear missing piece on the right wing, especially with Rodrygo Goes coming off an ACL tear and never really convincing on the right as a right footer himself.
