Endrick has made Real Madrid look foolish amid a scintillating start at Lyon and the club's higher-ups opinion makes it even worse. The Brazilian has been in terrific form out in France, posting four goals and one assist in three games.

Madrid allowed Endrick to leave on loan to ensure he was given more game time and that decision came with Xabi Alonso in charge. The Spaniard was dismissed just over a week later and reports now indicate that the board couldn't understand the 19-year-old's lack of opportunities under Alonso.

A new report from Madrid Universal claims that the La Liga giants now view the Selecao starlet as 'their summer signing.' Somehow a player they own and have done since the summer of 2024 has magically become the superstar talent that Los Blancos had longed for within the space of a month.

Endrick return could spell trouble for Rodrygo

What's worse is that Madrid are ready to listen to offers for Rodrygo if Endrick continues with his impressive form. If true, this screams of a lack of long-term planning and impulsiveness.

Rodrygo has refound form this season after a dissapointing start which included a summer of uncertainty. He was linked with a potential move away but played his way into Alonso's starting lineup.

The 25-year-old hasn't been as prolific as previous years but still has three goals and six assists in 25 games. He has been with the club since the summer of 2019 and been a vital attacker for Los Blancos over the years.

If Rodrygo were to be sold it would be a grim reflection on the board's decision-making because he has proven his worth. He will have two years left on his contract in the summer but his future could be determined by Endrick's performances at Lyon.

Potential Rodrygo sale must be worth it

Nobody should be untouchable and that includes Rodrygo who hasn't been at his best this season. But that goes for most of the players in this current Madrid team who are underperforming.

If the club do consider offers for the Brazilian this summer the asking price should start at over €100m. He has still to reach his peak and is undoubtedly one of the most exciting attackers in Europe.

Rodrygo isn't the only superstar whose future is uncertain because Vinicius Junior's contract saga is still rumbling on. There are some fans who think he's the one who should make way this summer especially given his contract demands and lack of consistency this season.
