Real Madrid center midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is in the worst period of his young career, and these are the times when a great prospect like this needs to raise his game and become a man in his football journey, so to speak.

Camavinga's name is being floated in transfer rumors as something of a sacrifical lamb so that Real Madrid can find a player who brings more technical quality and strenght in the build up phases as a 6, because Cama has been more of an energetic 8 who struggles when asked to tame himself.

But to his credit, Camavinga is not backing down from the challenge of stepping it up at Real Madrid. As much as he has been rightfully blasted for his mental errors and lack of progression since coming to Madrid in 2021, nobody can question his positive attitude, nor can anyone take away the fact that he has won two Champions Leagues at the club.

Eduardo Camavinga is a big topic this summer

According to a new report from The Athletic's Mario Cortegana, via Madrid Xtra, Eduardo Camavinga's representatives are relaying that it will be impossible for Real Madrid to move the Frenchman this summer. Cama appears to be holding firm on his stance of wanting to stay and prove himself at Madrid despite increasing transfer rumors.

Real Madrid are going to need to bring in a better defensive midfielder who can control games and shield the defense, and as an 8, Camavinga is already behind Jude Bellingham and Fede Valverde. Plus with Nico Paz potentially coming back to Madrid from Como after a Ballon d'Or caliber season in Italian football and Arda Guler showing a similar level of potential, Cama's place is very tenuous.

If Camavinga wants to stay, his future is in Jose Mourinho's hands, and it could also be impacted by how Mourinho views Morten Hjulmand and Rodri as potential defensive midfield priority transfer targets for the Royal Whites.

So he is going to have to come in and work as hard as possible to impress Mourinho when the Portuguese manager comes in. Cama's poor season has cost him a spot in the French national team squad at the World Cup, and he has a lot to prove. The mentality he is showing by wanting to stay at all costs is impressive, but Madridistas will see how strong his resolve is if a big club in the Premier League like Liverpool makes a massive offer.
