For Eduardo Camavinga, it's safe to say this hasn't been the smoothest season in his time at Real Madrid. He wasn't a preferred player under Xabi Alonso and has since lost his place under Alvaro Arbeloa to players like Thiago Pitarch and when he has played he hasn't played well leading many to believe he could be on his way out of the Bernabeu in the summer. Where exactly he could end up remains unknown, however one European giant has recently inquired about the Frenchman, and it's not at all who you may think.
As being reported by Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu on X, Turkish giants Galatasaray has 'received information' regarding Eduardo Camavinga's situation at Real Madrid this summer. No official offer has been made, just information gathering by the Turkish club ahead of the summer transfer window.
Destination Istanbul for Eduardo Camavinga?
Well this one is...interesting. Usually the Turkish league is where players go towards the end of their careers, so for a player like Camavinga who is still only 23-years-old to be making the move to Galatasaray would be a move literally no one would have seen coming. Even with the Turkish side stepping up their game recently by bringing in players like Leroy Sane and Victor Osimhen, it would still be a head scratching move for a player in the prime of their career.
As mentioned earlier signs are pointing towards Camavinga leaving in the summer. His game hasn't really developed much in the last few years, as evident by his omission from the France squad for the World Cup, and his red card against Bayern Munich seems to have been the last straw for the club who could look to cash in on their midfielder this summer.
Along with Galatasaray Camavinga has been linked with a number of other top European clubs like PSG, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City but where exactly he will end up if he is to be sold remains unknown. His value has dropped significantly in the last year with the Frenchman valued at only around €50 million, a fee that a number of clubs would be able to pay should they want to sign him.
From Real Madrid's perspective, one move that would make sense is sending him to Manchester City in a swap deal for Rodri. Los Blancos have been strongly linked with a move for the Spaniard in the summer and with Rodri open to the move and City interested in Camavinga, it could be a deal that makes sense for all parties, but especially Camavinga who would get a fresh start to his career after a tough last few years.
