The biggest talk of this international break was Trent Alexander-Arnold's exclusion from the 35 man England squad and what that means for the players future, just three months out from the World Cup. England manager Thomas Tuchel remains uncommitted to saying his stance on Trent's place in the squad, however one England icon has made his stance known, and it is one that many share.

Via Managing Madrid, Real Madrid and England icon David Beckham made his stance know on Trent Alexander-Arnold's World Cup squad inclusion, believing the fullback still has time to make the squad saying:

"With Trent, would I take him? I’d find it very hard not to take someone like Trent. But then Thomas, he’s come out and said that there are other players that are ahead of him at the moment. But he said ‘at the moment’, so that could change. This is very close to picking a final squad, but I still think that Thomas is probably still considering about Trent as well"

Trent Alexander-Arnold has World Cup backing from Real Madrid and England icon

This is the last international break before the World Cup and is a crucial break for players on the fringe of making the final 26 man squad's in the summer. With an alotted 35 man squad for this international break, many suspected Trent would be included to be given the chance to win over the new manager, but unfortunetly for the player, that didn't happen and it has left many scratching their heads.

Trent had been struggling with injuries during the last few international breaks and hadn't had the chance yet to show what he can bring to Thomas Tuchel's team. But with the Englishman now fully fit and playing well for Real Madrid, many wonder why he still isn't being given the chance to make the squad.

Some believe Trent doesn't fit the manager's system given he is more of an attacking fullback and Tuchel plays more of a defensive system, but if that's the case, it wouldn't hurt to still include Trent and deploy him in the midfield to bring some creativity, something we saw Gareth Southgate do on a few occasions during his time in charge.

All in all it seems Trent faces a steep uphill battle to win over manager Thomas Tuchel in these three months before the tournament starts, but luckily for Trent, he is fit and back to playing his best football, giving him a chance to still be included when all is said and done.
