Real Madrid means serious business this season. After three games played in La Liga, Xabi Alonso's side sit top of the table. However, the manner they've played this season far outweighs the impressiveness of their league position.

In truth, Real Madrid has never looked like losing a match this season. They've comfortably been the better team in their opening three, and while they've been helped with the displays of new signings, their old boys have also been getting the job done.

It might have taken Alonso a long while to get going with this project, but the Club World Cup helped to accelerate the proceedings. Now, Real Madrid wishes to continue as they've started.

But we mustn't overlook one key event. Today is the summer transfer deadline day. In La Liga, the transfer window will officially shut today at 11:59 PM CEST, or 5:59 PM Eastern. Will Real Madid be active?

So far, the signs are no. Real Madrid will not make any signings in the 2025 summer transfer deadline day.

Everybody knows the real reason Real Madrid won't sign anyone else

And look, some fans might be frustrated by this, understandably. As fans, it's natural to want transfer deadline day to be exciting. After all, it adds to the emotion of the season, and if the deadline is there, common sense tells fans that their club must use it.

But Real Madrid is a club that always thinks five steps ahead. They have signed all the players they need to sign and, in true Real Madrid fashion, they signed them early in the window.

Key additions like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras and Franco Mastantuono are all Real Madrid really needed. Anything extra would be impulse buying and not constructive to Xabi Alonso's long-term plans.

Real Madrid has been like this for a while. Florentino Perez had his frivolous fun during the Galactico era, but since then, Real Madrid has always signed the minimum amount of players possible, while getting the maximum amount of gain from those players.

Look, if an impossible-to-reject market opportunity comes Real Madrid's way, then they might sign that player. But only if.

If not, then Real Madrid fans must not anticipate any action this transfer deadline day. That's not a bad scenario, as there's never any harm in being confident in the business you already pulled off before leaving it too late.
