It won't be long until Jose Mourinho is officially confirmed as the new Real Madrid manager for the second time in his legendary career, as even Fabrizio Romanoh has given this obvious move the fabled "Here We Go".
Mourinho's hiring by Real Madrid will usher in the return of his super agent Jorge Mendes, the long time advisor of Real Madrid GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo, as an ally to the Royal White cause. Mendes will try to get Real to sign some of his clients to help the squad and upgrade areas of need for Mourinho, and Madrididstas are hoping that will prove to be more of an asset than a detriment.
Mendes's agency Gestifute still has a lot of high profile clients, and Mourinho was actually at the DFB Pokal Final scouting out Stuttgart and Bayern Munich at the behest of one of Stuttgart's executives who works for Mendes's agency.
Real Madrid might as well aim high
Meanwhile, according to a report from Diario AS's chief journalist Jose Felix Diaz, via the Madrid Zone, if president Florentino Perez, as everyone expects, is able to beat Enrique Riquelme in the elections, then he will sign at least one player repped by Jorge Mendes this summer. Per JFD, Mourinho has already drafted up a list of players he wants to Real Madrid.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the two players Real Madrid want the most from Mendes's group are the PSG midfielders from Portugal, Vitinha and Joao Neves. They are the pillars of the best club midfield and the best international midfield in world football, and while PSG would never want to sell to Real Madrid and it is hard to envision these two players wanting to play with Kylian Mbappe (Vitinha had a really bad relationship with the Frenchman after the forward's antics in Paris), they are nonetheless dream targets.
For any club, Vitinha and Neves are unsellable and would cost upwards of 110 million euros, if not a record setting 150 million euros for a midfielder, so you can only imagine what these players would cost Mourinho and Real Madrid.
But Jose Mourinho and Los Blancos have a lot of pull, and they have Jorge Mendes, the most powerful agent in the world in any sport, on their side. So if there were ever a time to dream for one of these two to transform a Real Madrid midfield that looks utterly lost without Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, then it is now in 2026.
