Real Madrid fans will take all the positive news they can get at this point, because just about everything emanating from the Valdebebas right now is incredibly negative, bordering on outright embarrassing. The latest word of the physical alteraction between Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni is a new low for the Merengues, who are staring down another guard of honor for Barcelona - and another season without a trophy.

President Florentino Perez is hoping that former manager Jose Mourinho can follow in the footsteps of his successors Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane in running it back with the Merengues for a second stint, saving the club in a dark hour of need as a big personality who can cut some egoes back down to size.

After the latest fight between Tchouameni and Valverde, Mourinho would be forgiven for wanting nothing of this Real Madrid dressing room, which is more shambolic than anyone thought with others like Kylian Mbappe, Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos, Alvaro Carreras, and Antonio Rudiger coming in a poor light, too.

Jose Mourinho is not at all fazed

But according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Jose Mourinho is not at all discouraged by the events unfolding at the Santiago Bernabeu. Per Fab, Mourinho still wants to return to Real Madrid and deal with the team's problems, unfazed by the drama festering behind the scenes.

For those who are familiar with Mourinho over the years, Romano's report will not actually come as any sort of a surprise. After all, this is the manager for whom controversy is always quick to follow, including at Real Madrid, where Madridistas definitely remember his infamous "mole" saga with Iker Casillas - among other things.

And Mourinho might not mind some fighting behind the scenes, especially if it means some players actually care enough to show intense emotion, rather than go on holiday or simply laugh at misfortune. After all, Mou is the manager who says he loves conflict and even finds the beauty in star players getting emotional, bickering at each other.

If anyone can blow things up and get into the heads of players like Kylian Mbappe who act like they are too important to care or play defense, then it is Mou. Not since his days at Roma has Mourinho been loved or in a positive light, and not since his second stint at Chelsea has Mou been winning trophies at an elite level. Getting Real Madrid back on track a second time is his chance to cement his status as the GOAT manager.
