Seemingly out of nowhere, Real Madrid have decided to go all in for RB Leipzig star winger Yan Diomande, who can play on either side of the formation, not too long after PSG seemed to have a deal all wrapped up with a personal agreement.

But now, Fabrizio Romano has already reported that Real Madrid have a personal agreement of their own verbally with the Ivory Coast star forward, and it appears that Real are the new frontrunners over the back to back Champions League winners to sign the player.

There were recently rumors that RB Leipzig could try to work out a deal with Real Madrid or another club to loan him out for a year before he returns, which was a surprising to hear, since Real generally do not go for that.

Real Madrid are not making any loans here

Now, Fabrizio Romano is clarifying that this is not actually true. Fab says that Yan Diomande himself is not interested in this proposition either. His desire is to join his new club immediately, and there is no club that currently plans on buying him just to loan him back to Leipzig for a year.

So Diomande and both PSG and Real Madrid are on the same page; they do not want to work a loan deal back with Leipzig. While sometimes clubs sign young players and leave them at their current clubs to keep developing for a bit - Arsenal did that with William Saliba and Tottenham Hotspur did the same with Destiny Udogie - Diomande is clearly ready for the big time.

He was already pretty much just as good as Michael Olise in the Bundesliga and also played well at the World Cup in some big games. Diomande is ready to play for Real Madrid and is obviously someone they want to help the first team finally win trophies again right now, seeing how he is miles beyond the options on the right wing, particularly with Rodrygo Goes in limbo after tearing his ACL.

There is another factor, too, that would make Diomande joining Leipzig on loan before coming to Madrid even more unlikely, and that is the fact that Real still want to sign Michael Olise in 2027 if there is any sort of an opening to bring him in. Florentino Perez and Jose Mourinho still want both players, so that makes it all the better that Fabrizio Romano is rubbishing this rumor,
