Michael Olise has become the new obsession of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who will soon confirm his maintenance of the presidency in the Spanish capital. Perez was smitten with Olise when he watched him in person, calling him the next Galactico and anointing him as a player he must have to round out the attack with Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe, his two most beloved players.

Last season, Olise was significantly better than either of them, and whereas no Real Madrid first team player from the 2025/26 season will be on the Ballon d'Or podium, Olise, who beat Kylian Mbappe out for the honor of being the best French player abroad, is a real contender to win the award.

During the presidential "debates" with Enrique Riquelme, Perez told the socios that he would be preparing a massive 150 million euro offer for a Galactic player on the same plane as the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo. And while he denied, when asked, that this player would be Olise, journalists have relayed that it is indeed the Bayern Munich man and Perez only denied it out of respect for Bayern because he is so serious that he wanted Bayern to hear it first from him.

Real Madrid are not scared to go for Michael Olise

Although Bayern Munich, including Uli Hoeness, have relayed that they will not even sell Michael Olise for 200 million euros, that does not seem to dissuade Florentino Perez either. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Real Madrid want to challenge if Bayern are really going to back up what they are saying publicly.

Per Romano, Real Madrid want to test that statement about not accepting even a massive bid for Olise by doing exactly that, sending Die Roten a massive bid for their star right winger and seeing how their Champions League rivals respond.

It is a bold play, but you can always count on the man who signed Luis Figo from Barcelona as his president making move to go for the bold maneuver when he feels he has to do something huge. And after two seasons without a trophy, Real Madrid do need a shot in the arm, even if their biggest needs are defensive and not attacking - and, of course, Perez is addressing those with Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, and potentially more with interest in the likes of Josko Gvardiol.

Olise is still unlikely, but the former Crystal Palace man is a lot more likely if Real Madrid even make a competitive offer in the first place. Fans will love the aggression; they missed this version of Papa Perez.
