It's safe to say this season has been a disaster for Real Madrid. Both on and off the pitch Los Blancos can't seem to catch a break and last weeks dressing room fight between Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni seems to have been the last straw for the club, who are now strongly considering selling the Uruguayan as part of the major changes expected to take place at the Bernabeu this summer. And for two giants of Europe, this news comes as a boost for their summer transfer plans.
As being reported by theMadridZone on X, PSG and Manchester City have long held interest in Fede Valverde and have had contact with his entourage in the past but viewed a move as 'impossible' however both clubs have now reignited their interest amid growing exit talks with the summer transfer window only weeks away.
Two European giants reignite their interest in Valverde
Once viewed as an untouchable cornerstone piece of Real Madrid's future, this season hasn't done any favors for Fede Valverde with his true colors starting to come out, and they're not good ones, which has led to his future at the club to be put into serious doubt. From his spat with Xabi Alonso and disobeying his orders, to his fight with Tchouameni, the midfielder is now closer to the exit door than ever before, which could be in the best interest for both the player and the club.
As mentioned earlier the two teams most interested in Valverde seem to be PSG and Manchester City, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich also holding some interest but they seem to be in the back seat for the time being. The 27-year-old carries a value of around €120 million, a fee that PSG and City could easily pay but the question remains, would they?
Let's look at PSG, while Valverde is a top player, he doesn't get into that midfield. Vitinha,, Fabian Ruiz, and Joao Neves is the best midfield trio in the world and the centerpiece to PSG dominance, and Luis Enrique won't be too eager to disrupt his masterpiece. And when it comes to City, that would maybe be a more viable option over PSG. With Rodri expected to extend, Pep Guardiola could use a midfield pivot of Valverde and Rodri with Rayan Cherki in front of the two which would be a solid option to take City back to winning the Premier League.
At the end of the day whether or not Valverde will be departing the club remains unknown but signs surely point to some starts leaving the Bernabeu in the summer. Whether that's Valverde or Tchouameni or even Vinicius or Kylian Mbappe one thing is for certain, major changes are coming at Real Madrid this summer, and no star is untouchable as with previous years.
