Kylian Mbappe is constantly the main topic around Real Madrid, but now with the full brunt of the media criticism starting to bear down on him, superstar teammates Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior are no longer a shield he can use to deflect the responsibility of being the leading figure of a team that is demonstrably worse with him than when they are without him.

Tensions are boiling over in the background, and the protection Mbappe received from within the walls of the Valdebebas are beginning to fall as the walls of Pompeii. The discontented voices in the locker room, through the vessels of the media and their representatives, are trying to make their frustrations known.

According to the latest report from Mario Cortegana and Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, many people around Real Madrid are not happy with the reported incident that took place at the training ground between Kylian Mbappe and a member of the coaching staff. Mbappe apparently lashed out at a coach very rudely, and now many at the club are not happy with how the incident was handled by leadership. Even manager Alvaro Arbeloa is said to be frustrated with Mbappe and more willing to let that frustration be known in his final days as Real Madrid manager.

Florentino Perez created a monster

There are very few people Mbappe has endeared himself to behind the scenes, and though president Florentino Perez still sees the Frenchman as his golden boy and will probably never give up on him, ignoring the problem is not going to make all of this go away.

Perez and Real Madrid, in addition to the entourage around the player that has always existed, have created a monster in Mbappe. He appears to be behaving as if he is someone who thinks he is above the law, above the club, and able to treat ancillary members of the club as though they are not even people. His entourage and crew will, of course, deny all this, but the plumes of smoke have certainly caught the attention of Madridistas.

Real Madrid have had an Mbappe problem since the moment he stepped foot at the Santiago Bernabeu, and though he has tried to emulate Cristiano Ronaldo, the mimicry has clearly only been superficial. Cristiano was not a serial loser who put his own numbers BEFORE the club, nor was he someone who treated teammates and staff with bitterness. Mbappe has run amok, and it's time for the real man in charge, Florentino Perez, to put this overgrown little boy in his place.
