Romero of El Mundo, while Florentino Perez thankfully still has faith in skilled negotiator and right hand man Jose Angel Sanchez, chief scout Juni Calafat's future at the club is suddenly in danger. And another key member of Real Madrid who has years of love for the club could be gone in Santiago Solari, one of the high ranking executives in the background.
Juni Calafat is on the chopping block
Firing figures like Solari and Calafat hardly seems like the answer. Some of the players Calafat has scouted have not been hits, but the funny thing is that his success rate is higher than it was when he first started. And in large part, the players who are not hitting it off right now like Franco Mastantuono either need more time or have issues other than raw talent that are preventing them from being great.
