Real Madrid will surely have Jose Mourinho in the dugout as their next manager, as Florentino Perez finally formally announced the Portuguese coach as his man of choice once (or if) he is confirmed as the president in the elections this weekend. Mourinho's move to Madrid was strongly rumored for months.
Although Mourinho's main priority is to bolster the defense, Real Madrid may not just stick to defenders to help the legendary coach succeed in his return to the Santiago Bernabeu. After nabbing Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konate on the cheap, Real Madrid are after other defenders like Riccardo Calafiori and Josko Gvardiol, but they are also after top midfield talent like Enzo Fernandez and Alexis Mac Allister from the Premier League.
But outside of England, the defense, and the midfield, Real Madrid have a huge name at the forward position in mind. According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez thinks he has the perfect fit for Mourinho's attack in mind to make sure the front line succeeds under the new manager, and he is ready to break the bank for Michael Olise from Bayern Munich.
Michael Olise is a big deal
The breakout superstar right winger was already amazing for Bayern and even for Crystal Palace before that, but he really reached another level this past season at Bayern Munich by breaking Lionel Messi's single season assist record while carving up defenses off the dribble on the regular, including Real Madrid in the Champions League knockouts.
Florentino Perez thinks Michael Olise will be very important to Jose Mourinho's success at Real Madrid, completing a formidable attacking triumvirate with Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. The president is desperate to get Vinicius Jr. and Mbappe on the same page and succeeding together, and he may think Olise is the glue guy to get it all to gel as a left footed right winger who can score, create, and take people on.
Mourinho appreciates technical quality, but he also likes guys who are going to be positive, create chances, and work hard on both ends of the pitch. So far in his career, Olise, whether at Crystal Palace or Bayern Munich, has shown that he can do all of those things at a high level, so it makes total sense for Florentino to look at Olise and think of him as the perfect gift to set Jose up for success with the biggest club in world football.
