Over the recent years we have seen a shift in the managerial world, as a rising number of teams hiring younger coaches and building their future projects around them.
You've got managers in Europe like Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid, Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich, Cesc Fabregas at Como and even outside of Europe coaches like Filipe Luis at Flamengo in Brazil who are all still in their late 30s or early 40s getting top managerial jobs and leading their teams to success.
It seems that the younger, former player-turned-manager is the new direction clubs are going when they are on the market for a new manager, and according to recent reports, Real Madrid's former assistant coach under Carlo Ancelotti is in line for his first senior managerial job.
Botafogo have a good coach in Davide Ancelotti
As being reported by ESPN, former Real Madrid assistant coach Davide Ancelotti , son of Carlo Ancelotti, is set to secure his first senior managerial job as the new head coach of Brazilian side Botafogo.
Davide will be replacing the departing Renato Paiva who is stepping down after his side's elimination from the Club World Cup.
David has been by his father's side for many years now, being a part of his coaching staff at Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton, and Real Madrid. After years as his father's understudy, the 35-year-old is finally ready to make his jump to being a team's head coach.
Still somewhat following his father, as Carlo Ancelotti is the coach of the Brazilian National Team and Botafogo is a Brazilian side, we will now see how much knowledge Davide has digested in his time by his father's side.
Botafogo currently sits eighth in the league, so the new manager could face an uphill climb in his first major role.
