Carlos Espi has already shown what he was signed by Real Madrid for. He scored the winner against Espanyol in his first game for the club, and it is the most obvious fact in the world that Espi will be brought in each time Real Madrid are in that situation.
He's a young player with a lot to prove in limited minutes, which is why his role isn't as easy as you may think. It's not as easy as just coming in and scoring headers. It's more about bejng brought in without any rhythm of the game and being expected to score or cause a goal in Real Madrid's favour.
For many players, it will be difficult to do so. For Espi, it is better because he has the physical credentials to help out.
However, mentally speaking, it will be challenging, especially without any rhythm. That is why he would also have to rely on other motivation factors. One of those factors is how well or poorly Gonzalo Garcia does at Fulham.

Garcia has already scored two goals in three appearances for Fulham, and looks to be a brilliant signing for the club already. There is a lot more to come from the Spaniard, but he is playing with a chip on his shoulder that he wants to prove that he was good enough to play at Real Madrid. Obviously, it was his decision to leave the club, but he only left because he knew his quality was great, and he wanted to showcase that regularly.
Espi could use that to his advantage. If he is able to channel his best form because Gonzalo is playing well, that'll be the most ideal thing.
It will obviously mentally impact him. Real Madrid have 30% rights on Garcia, and if he keeps performing at a high level, Real Madrid could bring him back.
If that ever happens - regardless of how likely it is - that will not be good news for Espi. Because of that, Espi would then play with a chip on his shoulder and try to outdo what Garcia is doing at Fulham.
He wouldn't necessarily have to score more goals as Garcia is a starter, while he's coming off the bench, but he would have to play his role really well, which, at the end of the day, is good news for Real Madrid.
