Jude Bellingham has been transcending the game itself at the 2026 World Cup. Real Madrid fans always want their biggest stars to be the biggest stars on the planet and taking center stage as the news makers at major interntional tournaments, and no single player has been grabbing more headlines than the England national team center midfielder.

No matter his role or what phase of the game it is, Bellingham make the difference, and with match winning braces in back to back games against Mexico and Norway, Jude has matched a mark set by Diego Armando Maradona and Pele before him.

Bellingham is cementing his status as one of the game's greats, and, at this point, it is a foregone conclusion that he is the best midfielder in the world, no matter what people are trying to sell about Pedri, Rodri, Vitinha, or anyone else. Because this summer, Jude has taken all those guys to school with decisive actions in either penalty box and gazelle runs on the ball to break the lines.

Jude Bellingham is the benchmark now

It has taken them too long, since Bellingham's finest work has been in the German and Spanish leagues, but now the major pundits in England are taking notice of just how amazing the 2023/24 Champions League winner is. All the talk of leaving Jude at home for the World Cup is finally being called out as beyond ridiculous.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright, a great striker back in the day, is the latest notable name in England to sing the praises of Jude Bellingham, and he is the latest to declare the 23 year old England international as the very best midfielder on the planet.

Wright said of Jude on The Overlap podcast, “I’d say Jude Bellingham is the best midfielder in the world.”

It is a simple, pointed statement that Real Madrid fans will definitely agree with, and they have been saying this ever since Bellingham stepped foot at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2023. And the smartest ones were saying that the year before when Jude nearly carried Borussia Dortmund to a rare Bundesliga title - a title they literally had won until Jude got injured for the final couple of games of the 202/23 season.

Finally, the world is paying attention to Jude and not listening to the lazy narratives of a few, but Real Madrid fans knew this all along. Now, they would like to see their club put Jude's prodigious talent into action in 2026/27.
