In-form Barcelona forward is a major doubt for Copa Del Rey final vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid do not have much to hang on to for whatever remains of this season. They are out of the biggest competition they are the most passionate about. Now, only La Liga and Copa Del Rey remain, with slim chances of victory for Los Blancos.

Mathematically speaking, La Liga seems to be too big a dream to achieve now. Even a miraculous big win in the upcoming league El Clásico would only place Real Madrid in a slightly closer chance of winning the league. As things stand, FC Barcelona are standing right in front of their aspirations for the first silverware of the season.

Copa Del Rey, too, does not promise much. Yes, Los Blancos are in the final, which in itself is a big achievement considering the past they've had in the competition, but the final against Barcelona seems scary. Again, the Catalans are the favorites to take the trophy home, and rightfully so.

Barcelona striker is a big doubt for the Copa Del Rey final vs. Real Madrid

Barcelona's offense has caused the biggest problems for Real Madrid this season. Only this season, the combined score of the two games between the two clubs is a staggering 2-9. Conceding 9 goals in only two games is terrible, and the situation might only increase in the forthcoming final.

However, Real Madrid may have gained a huge lift, undermining Barcelona's chances of scoring a few goals.

Barcelona's most dependable striker, Robert Lewandowski, departed the game against Celta Vigo with a semitendinosus injury. The precise nature of the injury is unknown, but according to recent sources, the Polish national is likely to miss Sunday's game.

Some sources indicate that Lewandowski might be gone for up to three weeks. If that happens, he will be ruled out of the La Liga match between the two giants.

If this isn't the best opportunity for Real Madrid to capitalize on, I don't know what is. Lewandowski has scored three of the nine goals scored against Madrid. His injury is a significant help to Real Madrid's defense.
