It didn't take long for Real Madrid to make Bayern Munich sweat over Michael Olise

While Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe and PSG's Ballon d'Or jewel Ousmane Dembele, fresh off a hat trick, have unsurprisingly taken center stage for the French national team, Bayern Munich right winger MIchael Olise is having a sensational World Cup, too.

Out of all these three players, Olise actually had, quite clearly, the best 2025/26 season for the Bundesliga champions, and he has become the new obsession for president Florention Perez, who fell in love with the way Olise shredded up his defense.

Real Madrid have since gone on to improve their back line for Jose Mourinho, but they are still driving after Olise in the background, careful not to upset the balance of their close relationship with Die Roten.

Michael Olise is not committing to Bayern Munich

And now, Jose Felix Diaz of Diario AS is reporting, via the Madrid Zone, that Bayern Munich are beginning to sweat a little bit. Per JFD, Bayern are beginning to worry that Michael Olise is being swayed to move to Real Madrid. Bayern had thought and hoped Olise would be giving a gesture in public or to them of his commitment to the club in spite of the transfer rumors, but he has not done so, which is making Bayern worry.

If anything, Olise appears to be leaning more towards Real Madrid and the flattering links, and Kylian Mbappe may have something to do with that. Olise and Mbappe are really enjoying their football together in the French attack, and Olise was finding him early and often in those wins against Iraq and Senegal in the group stages, forging a connection that has Madridistas really intrigued for what the two could do together.

Although Real Madrid are focused on defenders and midfielders, they have never had a great left footed right winger since the decline of Gareth Bale, and that has always been one area of the attack that has held them back from truly having one of the most vaunted and complete front threes in European football again, which is part of why they have not been as sensational attacking wise as Barcelona and Bayern Munich in recent seasons.

Stealing away a crown jewel player and one of the two truly elite left footed right wingers in the world from Bayern Munich still feels like a pipe dream, but Real Madrid are beginning to plant a seed of doubt in the minds of the Bavarians. And that is massive for them.
