It only took one big game for Ayyoub Bouaddi to prove Real Madrid right

After his scintillating performance for Morocco against Vinicius Junior and the superstars of Brazil, 18 year old center midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi emerged on the transfer radar of Real Madrid. And while Manchester City, PSG, and now Manchester United are still highly interested in the Lille prospect, it appears Real Madrid have dropped their interest in the player.

It's surely because Juni Calafat and the Real Madrid scouting team are not overly impressed with the Moroccan defensive midfielder. In general, Real appear to be further against the idea of bringing in a top midfielder despite what Jose Mourinho wants. Dream target Enzo Fernandez is too expensive, and Real already signed Bernardo Silva. The options out there are more expensive and not much better, if at all better, than Eduardo Camavinga or Aurelien Tchouameni.

And although Morocco defeated Canada 3-0 in the World Cup Round of 16, Bouaddi pretty much proved that point to Real Madrid. He was subbed out early and had nothing to do with the result, getting bullied on the ball and resorting to falling early so Michael Oliver would bail him out with the whistle, which is just not something that will happen for a Real Madrid midfielder in La Liga.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is not a Real Madrid player

Bouaddi is a highly intriguing prospect at 18, but he is not remotely ready for Real Madrid. He is not proven in Ligue 1 either, and one great game in the World Cup means nothing if you cannot consistently dominate, quite frankly, lower level competition at the tournament.

Canada bossed Bouaddi. He looked like a second rate athlete, and he could not complete anywhere near 90 percent of his passes against a team of midfielders outside the top division. His defensive work rate was poor and his chance creation non existent.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is not a bad player, but with figures of 70 million euros and a potential bidding war involving oil clubs Manchester City and PSG, Real Madrid just don't see him being worth that kind of trouble, especially since he needs more seasoning to even compete with someone at the bottom of the depth chart.

And in any case, he is not better than the prospects Real Madrid already have. Thiago Pitarch had some lumps against one of the very best teams in the world in Bayern Munich, and yet he was still far better than Bouaddi looked in the World Cup against Canada. Bouaddi is not ready for the real big time, and Real Madrid are 100 percent right to drop off their interest.
