Real Madrid star forward Endrick has yet to make his debut this season due to injury, but Jose Mourinho has been more than hinting at big plans for the youngster despite signing Carlos Espi as the backup to Kylian Mbappe at the striker position, with Espi already getting on the score sheet with a Joselu esque winner on Matchday 1 while coming off the bench.

Endrick has been the subject of intense transfer interest from around Europe, with Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool significantly interested in stealing the 20 year old phenom from Real's clutches.

But Endrick will be back soon for the Merengues. Jose Mourinho confirmed at the press conference before Real Madrid face Malaga, via the Madrid Zone, that Endrick is close to returning. And he also delivered a positive injury update on defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Mourinho said, "Endrick is the CLOSEST player to return. Maybe he could play against Betis on Friday, we'll see. We'll give Tchouaméni a bit more time, to have him at 100%, he's very important to us."

Real Madrid get some positive injury news

Even though Endrick isn't going to be a starter and may have already fallen behind both Arda Guler and Yan Diomande as right wing options, too, he is still important to this team with a dynamism and finishing quality that Real Madrid can still use in this grueling season across all competitions.

The Aurelien Tchouameni update may be even more interesting to Madridistas, as the anchoring No. 6 has a unique role in the side. Real Madrid fans can consider Jose Mourinho's update on the French midfielder to be a positive, too, because it sounds less like Tchou is out because he can't play but is moreso out because Real Madrid do not want to risk anything worse happening to him.

Tchou was dealing with injury issues during the summer at the World Cup, missing a couple of games for the French national team before returning to face Spain in the semifinals, where he looked way less than 100 percent in the semifinals.

Real Madrid do need the profile Tchouameni has, and Mourinho is a huge fan of the player, having urged Real to sign him to a contract extension despite a couple of poor seasons and rampant interest in Enzo Fernandez and Rodri from the manager himself. But Tchou is the guy, and Real want to make sure he is fully fit before returning; it doesn't sound like he is too far away either.
