Real Madrid have brought in four stars in the summer transfer window thus far, and they have designs on adding a few more. Michael Olise remains the Galactico on everything but the lips of Florentino Perez, Enzo Fernandez and Mateus Fernandes are two blockbuster signings for the midfield from the Premier League, Ayyoub Bouaddi is becoming a bigger topic withi each passing game, and one more top class center back with a sweet left foot is left on Jose Mourinho's shopping list.

Los Blancos are doing everything in their power to sign the players Mourinho wants, and it is to the point where the manager is the one calling the shots, which is a scene that has never really occurred before at the Valdebebas.

In order to keep signing these big names, Real Madrid are going to have to let underperforming players in the current squad go. So far, only one player has received their walking papers, as Mourinho told Dani Ceballos that he has no room for the impending free agent after his disaster of a 2025/26 season in which both his quality and attitude were totally lacking.

Real Madrid fans will agree with the exit

There is another player similar to Ceballos with poor discipline, a terrible attitude of insubordination, problems off the pitch, and both a lack of progress and a stunning lack of quality on the pitch. And that player is center back Raul Asencio, whose spot in the squad will be impossible when Mourinho gets his left footed center back to complete his haul of defensive signings.

As such, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano is reporting that not only have Real Madrid been planning the sale of Asencio this summer, but Jose Mourinho himself has now given the club the green light to find a transfer partner. Jose Felix of Diario AS had already reported that Mourinho's super agent Jorge Mendes is set to get involved so Real can sell Raul easier, which goes to show how tough he may be offload.

Now, Asencio is a physically strong player, not awful on the ball by any means, and still has future upside at 23. A certain La Liga, Serie A, or even Ligue 1 club that loves rough and tumble defenders and can sit in a low block so they do not have to test him mentally in transitions much might like him, and maybe a Moneyball club in the Premier League gets a "smart" idea to go for him. Whatever the case, Mourinho has no use for Asencio, and neither do the Madridistas. He must go.
