The turmoil at Real Madrid has reached a crescendo after Kylian Mbappe's post game tirade following a 2-0 win over Real Oviedo, unleashing his frustrations at manager Alvaro Arbeloa for daring to only play him off the bench after he was coming off an injury.

Real Madrid feel hopelessly broken behind the scenes with more reports of moles than victories these days, and many fans are pointing to Mbappe as the grand architect, having recalled a similar scene play out at PSG - and having defended him at the time before it all happened to them.

Jose Mourinho is president Florentino Perez's last proverbial bullet in the chamber to shoot down the demons at the Santiago Bernabeu and finally get these team on the same page - a feat that neither Alvaro Arbeloa nor Xabi Alonso before him could accomplish.

Jose Mourinho is getting closer

The Mourinho to Madrid track is so hot at this point that a move feels imminent, and now even Mourinho seems to be openly saying that his future at Benfica is only a matter of days.

He told fans at a recent press conference, via Madrid Xtra, “Regarding my personal situation, I don’t think there’s any reason for concern. No one should ever worry about whether someone stays or leaves because Benfica is bigger than everyone.”

That is about as open as you can get without openly saying, "I'm leaving," while your team is still competing in a season. Despite Jorge Mendes negotiating with Real Madrid over the past couple of weeks, Jose Mourinho has shown the utmost respect to Benfica, one of the most historic teams in European football in their own right and one of the three biggest clubs in his home country.

Mourinho is doing things the right way, but at this point in the rumor cycle, he knows that everyone else knows he is going to Real Madrid. So there is no sense in totally hiding it or being too quiet about what is going on, because that's just going to make fans feel cheated when the inevitable does happen.

Real Madrid are working on the best time to unveil Mourinho, but with so much smoke emanating from Florentino Perez's kitchen, it's only a matter of time before Mourinho emerges out of the ensuing inferno as the final deal with the devil that Real Madrid need to make in order to save themselves from a third trophyless campaign.
