Real Madrid are already in the midst of one of their biggest squad overhauls we have seen in quite some time. With the announcements of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konate already confirmed, as well as the rumored arrival of Denzel Dumfries, new manager Jose Mourinho is already making his mark on Los Blancos before even one training session. The Special One is not done however as he has identified the midfield as an area that needs a major rebuild, and he has a bold plan in mind get the midfield back to it's best.

As being reported by theMadridZone on X, Jose Mourinho already has an outline for his plan to save Real Madrid's midfield, with his plan consisting of building the midfield around Jude Bellingham, keeping Fede Valverde, selling one of Tchouameni or Camavinga, and signing one of Enzo Fernandez, Ayyoub Bouaddi, or Mateus Fernandes.

Jose Mourinho has his plan so save Real Madrid's midfield

We've seen it time and time again in Jose Mourinho's career that he doesn't shy away from bold plans to shape his team, and the same goes for his return to the Bernabeu. Despite the sheer midfield talent Real Madrid currently has, it has proven difficult to find the perfect balance like we saw with the midfield trio of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro and that has proven to be a major stumbling block for Real Madrid in recent seasons costing them major success, and smartly, Mourinho has identified that problem and wants to solve it as quick as possible.

And he plans to start with building around Jude Bellingham. While Bellingham was at his best playing as more of a false nine during the 23/24 season, he is one of the best box to box midfielders in the world, and by building around him with other players, that gives him the freedom to focus more on his box to box role, rather than having to play more of a deeper role like we saw this season. Partnering him with Valverde and one of Enzo, Bouaddi or Mateus Fernandes builds that well balanced midfield of attacking and defending, with each player knowing their own role.

Of course with the arrival of one of Enzo, Bouaddi, or Fernandes means someone will have to go because there would just be too many players fighting for minutes, and unfortunetly that means one of Tchouamenmi or Camavinga will have to go, with Camavinga being the most likely. The Frenchman had a very poor season in comparison to his compatriot, so that puts him behind in the race to be kept by Los Blancos, which is unfortunate for Camavinga.

Now while this plan sounds amazing on paper, the game isn't played on paper and many factors are still at play here including the departure of one of Camavinga or Tchouameni as well as the fees that woudl need to be paid for the new arrival. Bouaddi could cost around €80 million, same with Mateus Fernandes, while Enzo could cost upwards of €120 million, funds that could prove difficult for the club to find to execute Jose's master plan.
