Given the sheer amount of attacking depth at Real Madrid, many still ask the question of where does everyone fit in to Jose Mourinho's plans and for one player this isn't a new question and is one that has been following him for his entire career at the Bernabeu and the player in question is Endrick. The Brazilian has long seemed like somewhat of an outcast at Real Madrid, however Jose Mourinho is determined to get the best out of Endrick this season and has a plan to do so, however if it doesn't work out, Endrick could be set up for disaster.
When it comes to Endrick this season, Jose Mourinho plans to use the Brazilian in two different ways, as an alternative striker to Kylian Mbappe as well as playing him on the right-wing as Mourinho doesn't see Bernardo Silva or Fede Valverde as options for the right-wing. The Special One likes Endrick's profile and will get him minutes this season, but will it work out for Endrick?
It could be yet another long season for Endrick at Real Madrid
Endrick has always been somewhat of an interesting character at Real Madrid and this season is no different. The Brazilian has yet to make an appearance for Los Blancos as he is out recovering from an injury but when he does return where he will factor in still remains a huge question. We all know he has they talent to play for Real Madrid, he managed to grab eight goal and eight assists last season, however those came during his loan spell at Lyon so what exactly he can bring when getting consistent minutes at Real Madrid is still somewhat unknown.
Mourinho's plan for Endrick is smart in theory however whether or not it will play out how he imagines it on the pitch will be interesting to see. The Brazilian is a natural striker so using him as an alternative for Kylian Mbappe makes obvious sense, however the arrival of Carlos Espi this summer and him already showing early signs that he can be a difference maker could prove to be trouble for Endrick to get minutes in his natural position.
When it comes to playing Endrick on the right-wing, this is where things could get interesting. Endrick does have a lot of characteristics that would make him a solid option on the right-wing, mainly his pace and the fact that he is left footed, allowing gim the ability to cut in and have a shot on his favored foot. So far this season we have seen all of ARda Guler, Brahim Diaz, and Yan Diomande get minutes at right-wing so it wouldn't be surprising once Mourinho does the same with Endrick.
This could however spell disaster for Endrick at the same time. While he no doubt has the talent to pull of playing on the right-wing, it's always a dangerous game playing a player out of position as it could end up actually hurting the team more than helping. Mourinho is The Special One so if anyone can get this plan to work it's him, however if it shows early signs of not working as intended, he needs to scratch the plan ASAP to avoid further damage to Real Madrid but more importantly Endrick's career.
