Jude Bellingham is answering his critics yet again with a blistering start to the 2026 World Cup, as the England international continues to be the best and most consistent player for his country. And although some Real Madrid fans have foolishly overlooked or turned their backs on Bellingham, everyone who remembers the 2023/24 season or who has seen how hard Jude works on the pitch knows that this is one of the pillars of the team - and maybe their own best and most important player alonsgide goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

It is clear that Jose Mourinho is going to value Bellingham highly coming into the job. He has spoken with effusive praise for Bellingham in the past, and he is also ready to make him the centerpiece of the team over the attackers Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, perhaps because of how consistent Jude is and how much he runs. And as Real Madrid themselves have seen in Clascios, Jude has that clutch gene.

Unfortunately, Bellingham's shine has been tempered the last couple of years after Mbappe joined, as the other Real Madrid managers made Jude more of a covering, defensive player, just because he was the one with the work rate and skill set to make it happen. That helped paper over other cracks in the squad, but it made Real Madrid weaker with Bellingham less involved in attacking play.

Jose Mourinho is a man who values Jude Bellingham highly

According to a report from Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, that is set to change next season, as Jose Mourinho views Jude Bellingham as a key player in the No. 10 role when he transitions the club back to mostly utilizing a 4-2-3-1 formation next season. The secondary position Mourinho would have Bellingham in is as a No. 8 box to box midfielder.

These are the positions that have served Bellingham the best in his career at Borussia Dortmund, on England, and even at Real Madrid in 2023/24 when he was the best player in the world that season and helped lift Real to a Champions League title many did not predict.

Bellingham is at his best when he is in the action, driving the ball at the defense, making decisive runs into the box, finishing off chances for goals, and getting involved in the heart of plays. Mourinho understands this and has seen how valuable Bellingham is, both in England pushing for trophies internationally and for Real Madrid the last time they were truly great. Fans have been waiting for Jude to become unleashed and a bigger part of the team again, and Mou will finally make it happen.
