Real Madrid superstar center midfielder Jude Bellingham exited the 2026 World Cup before reaching the final, but his tournament will go down in history for the records he broke and for helping carry England to the semifinals, just as he did carry England to the European Championship Final against Spain in 2024.

Whlie Jude did not have his best performance against Argentina, he still worked hard for the team and was mostly screwed over by terrible coaching from Thomas Tuchel, who also did England's other elite player, Harry Kane, dirty with the sort of cowardly coaching that would even make former Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank cringe.

Bellingham and Kane were left with scraps as England sat back and defended, basically inviting Lionel Messi and Argentina all the time and possession in the world to pick them apart and hand them a World Cup semifinal defeat. And Argentina did just that, winning 2-1 behind an Enzo Fernandez banger and a perfect right footed cross from Messi to striker Lautaro Martinez.

Jude Bellingham is bigger than Thomas Tuchel

Before the World Cup, Thomas Tuchel tried to cut Jude Bellingham down to size and even had members of the English media attacking him, stating England would be better off without him. Well, England would not have even made it past the Round of 16 without Bellingham, whose back to back braces were necessary for wins over Mexico and Norway.

Tuchel called Bellingham's behavior and desire to win repulsive publicly when he first took over, then weakly tried to walk it back by saying it was a mistranslation. But all Tuchel has done is try to pull himself up and his star player down.

In the end, Jude Bellingham is getting the last laugh, because Thomas Tuchel has exposed himself to the world as an overrated manager riding a fluke 2020/21 Champions League win with Chelsea during the season most impacted by COVID-19.

Tuchel's coaching decisions, such as leaving off Trent Alexander-Arnold, have screwed over England, and if it were not for Harry Kane and Bellingham, they would have been flops of the tournament. His coaching against Argentina was the worst coaching performance of the entire tournament, proving Tom Brady's point right that if your coaching is terrible, it does not matter what the players do, you will lose. Tuchel is the biggest problem, not Bellingham, and though he implies otherwise, Tuchel's ego and lack of adaptability are the real killers to England.
