Paul Pogba, in his day, was one of the most complete football players in the world. There was almost nothing he could not do on the pitch, and he looked to be set for a place in the history books as one of the greatest players to have ever played football, based on how talented he was.
Pogba used to be considered a brilliant midfielder with a lot of ambition. He actively said he wanted to be the best as well as the most complete player in world football, and was so driven when he was at Juventus.
After leaving for Manchester United, he was still performing at a high level, but his level went down just a little bit each passing season. Things got more and more difficult for the Frenchman, and his mentality also seemed to take a hit in that regard.
Soon after, his career started spiralling down, and now, he is without a club. It is a sad situation, but it is the difference in mentalities, and the environment that he was in for a few years that had a huge effect.
Jude Bellingham is already becoming what Manchester United fans wanted Paul Pogba to be
With Jude Bellingham, it looks slightly different. He has already been in the top three in Ballon d'Or races. He has led the league in goals and had a very high defensive work rate in the past. He has shown that he can be Real Madrid's most important and consistent player, and that is exactly what he is doing now.
If he continues like this, best in the world shouts will be thrown at him, and he will be a huge nominee for the Ballon d'Or if Real Madrid end up winning things this season.
All of this is to just talk about the similarities between the two stars. Obviously, Pogba and Bellingham were very different stylistically, but both of them have shown a lot of potential playing for a big team, and both, at their best, are two of the most complete football players in recent history.
The only difference is that Bellingham's mentality and the environment around him seems to be taking him to another level - a level which Manchester United fans used to hope Pogba would reach wearing their colours, but it never ended up happening.
There is a long way for Bellingham to go before he is called one of the greatest players of all time, but if he continues like this, and his mentality does not fade away, there is no stopping him from achieving that, too.
