Real Madrid superstar center midfielder Jude Bellingham is coming off an incredible performance against Malaga, and the England international has truly picked up where he left off at the World Cup when he was arguably the real best player of the tournament, with all due respect to Kylian Mbappe (and none to Lionel Messi and Rodri).
Bellingham has been scoring goals, defending his heart out, carrying the ball, and making everyone else around him better in that comfortable No. 10 role under new manager Jose Mourinho. He and Mou have fit together as perfectly as the media hinted at, and it feels like Jude is going to flourish even beyond his 2023/24 debut season in Madrid when he won La Liga and the Champions League.
But one thing Real Madrid fans are hoping to see this season is enough rest for the English star. Bellingham is essential in all the big games and rapidly becoming known as Real Madrid's most important player, but fans who have watched this team closely ever since his arrival know that because he plays so no holds barred, he will not hold himself back.
A rested Jude Bellingham is a sight to behold
So Jude is liable to run himself into the ground by working TOO hard, which is generally not a problem you see for most superstars. Kylian Mbappe and even Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the past did not have that problem.
But Jude Bellingham is cut from a different cloth, even beyond Vinicius Junior in this way, and if Real Madrid do not carefully rotate him, then he could fall victim to more nagging injuries and fatigue that prevent him from being at his absolute best, which is honestly what Real Madrid need in order to win the Champions League and La Liga titles again.
Jose Mourinho is already rotating players through the first three games, with the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Denzel Dumfries, Antonio Rudiger, Brahim Diaz, and Alvaro Carreras getting starts off the bench. And the best case for continuing these rotations, including for bona fide superstars like Jude whom the team needs each week, is Bellingham himself.
Real Madrid need 100 out of 100 intensity from their players, and Mourinho demands that, too. But he also knows that he can't physically extract that from his players if they are not getting enough rest. A rested Jude, in particular, is the biggest weapon in the world with how much ground he can cover and how relentless he is.
