For some bizarre reason, Jude Bellingham has had to face a firing squad of critics throughout his career, even when he was just a prospect for Borussia Dortmund. Despite winning the Champions League and La Liga for Real Madrid, nearly carrying Dortmund to a rare Bundesliga title, and nearly leading England to the European Championship, Jude has had to face accusations of being selfish, overrated, and, most laughably, not worth starting for the Three Lions.
None of the criticisms of Bellingham make any sense, and there have been so many smear campaigns in the English press and Spanish press from outlets like The Athletic and the Daily Mail, as well as fraudsters on YouTube purporting that Bellingham is a bad teammate or causes problems and is disliked.
This World Cup, Jude has spat in the face of his critics with game winning performance after game winning performance in all phases. The young Real Madrid superstar followed in the foot steps of Diego Armando Maradona with a brace in less than 100 seconds to lift England to a win over an impervious Mexico, even clearing a sure fire goal from out of his own six yard box.
Jude Bellingham works harder than the devil
Jude Bellingham's goals were trademark, bombing into the box and finishing like his friends Harry Kane and Erling Haaland would as No. 9's. And yet, Jude has had to listen to critics say that he is a tap in merchant or gets lucky with the goals that he scores.
And once again, the England No. 10 had the perfect response to those critics in an interview with Topps, as relayed by Madrid Xtra, "Scoring lucky goals? Some people make 5 runs into the box, and don’t get any and say ‘oh I’m so unlucky’. I make 30 runs, and maybe get one. My margin is much smaller, but I keep going at it, and when something happens over and over its not lucky. It's such a satisfying feeling, and I know I’ll get caned for scoring easy goals, but I love it to be honest.”
Every critic needs to read this quote and both underestand what Jude is saying and honestly understand football better. Jude scores so many goals not only because he is clinical, but because he is intelligent and hard working. He knows where to go and where to be to sniff out the goals, and he knows that if he works hard enough to try enough times, the numbers game will add up and those chances will fall to him.
