Real Madrid is arguably one of, if not the most star studded team in all of football. Some of the biggest names in the world are all assembled in the same team, with the sheer star power of the current Real Madrid squad is reminiscent of the Galacticos squad of the early 2000s.
Players like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham highlight the group, but that doesn't discount the name and star power in other areas of the squad. Thibaut Courtois, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Fede Valverde, to name a few others.
With all this star and name power in one team, some get lost in the shuffle and fans sometimes forget just how good they really are, and they get a reminder when the player gets an opportunity to show what he is capable of.
There is one player in particular who has had a rough time the last few months but has been stellar as of late, reminding fans just how good he really is, and according to Jude Bellingham, he is the most underrated player at Los Blancos.
Jude Bellingham just named Real Madrid's most talented player
While speaking with the media (via MadridXtra) after Real's victory over Alaves, Jude Bellingham went on to give praise to who he thinks is Real Madrid's most underrated player, and it's not who you'd think it is; he says it's Rodrygo. Bellingham went on to say:
"Rodrygo is SO underrated. For me, he’s probably the most talented and most gifted player in the squad."Jude Bellingham
While some may read this quote and think Jude is crazy, in reality, he may be on to something. Although he's been going through a very rough patch, there's no denying that Rodrygo is immensely talented and is one of Real Madrid's best players on his day.
While Vinicius and Mbappe add the flair and style in the front line, Rodrygo flies under the radar with his more simplistic, yet effective dribbling style and does the defensive dirty work that the other attackers don't do.
After going through the worst goalless drought for any Real Madrid attacker in the club's history, Rodrygo has bagged two goals in his last two games, taking the first steps to getting his mojo back and returning to the form we knew him for two or three years ago.
Xabi Alonso has been trialing a front three these last few matches with Vini on the left, Mbappe through the middle, and Rodrygo on the right, seemingly establishing Rodrygo as Xabi's go-to right-wing option after being a substitute for the better part of the beginning of the season. Rodrygo may well be the most underrated player at the club and through his hard work, has finally won Xabi Alonso over.
